The Haskell Greenhouse

The Haskell Greenhouse is fully funded by the USDA-NIFA Tribal College Education Equity Grant, which Haskell Indian Nations Universityis eligible to receive due to its 1994 land-grant status. The Haskell Greenhouse is the leads biocultural restoration on campus.

About the Emblem

Originally designed by Courtney King (Peoria) in 2022 to holistically encapsulate the work of the Haskell Greenhouse. After 3 years, the emblem was re-designed by student researcher Aiyanna Tanyan (Seminole) in January 2026.

The sunflower represents Kansas. Haskell lands put on the beautiful, yellow floral displays in the fall.

The Medicine Wheel to symbolize balance and our interconnectedness with the land and our more-than-human relatives.

The Eagle Feathers in three to recognize the wisdom, honor, and strength of past, present, and future generations.
